Divergent Book and Movie Fansite
We have gone 26 days and we haven't seen many pictures from the set besides the very open set at the Wells Road location. It is easier to get images of Area 51 then anything Divergent Movie, that is until today.
The set staff is currently setting up the Navy Pier for filming and we have the first photographs thanks to Divergent Fan Summer McNeal.
How has the pier changed for the Dystopian version of Chicago?
The Ferris wheel that is usually white, looks like it has been painted to give it an old and rusty appearance. In the middle of it all, Summer claims to have seen a ticket booth (not pictured) says it has booth been covered with a dirty old looking tarp. Dirt and grass and sticks also cover the grounds. You can even see workers in the process of adding more patina or age to the things on the set.
Here are some closer looks of Navy Pier in Chicago looks like in a Dystopian future:
Can you see how they have aged the metal? This railing is normally white.
More rust. Chicago is just falling apart on the set of Divergent!
Only a true Divergent fan would be excitedly taking photos of sticks!

UPDATED NEW PHOTOS:
Summer took a ride on the Ferris Wheel and got another unique view.
Things we want to point out in this photos is that the aging of the Ferris Wheel stops at a point. The whole Ferris Wheel is not at aged. You can also see the ticket booth covered with the tarp that we mentioned. Something new we want to mention is the wooden backdrop by the water.
Check out the aged grass with more dystopian sticks! You also can see Director's chairs and the booth that houses the screens that producers, the director, and cast get to view of the filming. Veronica Roth probably viewed screens like that when she visited the set.
Tonight filming permits are slated for an overnight shoot at Chicago's Navy Pier for the what Divergent fans call "the ferris wheel" scene. It's a great scene in the book where Dauntless faction members play capture the flag. Tris and Four climb the Ferris wheel together.
This overnight shoot starts at 6 p.m. with permits until 6 a.m. If you are new to movie sets, overnight shoots are not uncommon.
Ferris Wheel photo in non-dystopian Chicago:
We have no idea who this lovely couple is, but we found a picture of the ground via google. Notice the white railing. It's not rusty in 2013!
